PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepping motor which can suppress the heating of a motor without causing noise and minute vibration, in the holding condition of the rotational position of a rotor at stoppage of rotation. SOLUTION: Exciting coils 3a-3d for holding are larger in resistance value than exciting coils 2a-2d, and are connected in parallel to those exciting coils 2a-2d. Transistors Tr11-Tr14 are switched to supply some of the exciting coils 2a-2d and the exciting coils 3a-3d for holding with DC power B. A control circuit 5 controls the switching of the transistors Tr11-Tr14 so as to supply the exciting coils 3a-3d for holding with DC power B. |
