PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently foot an image on a record medium by repeating the operation of rotating a developing rotary and then, transiently stopping it several times, after the exchange of developing units is completed. SOLUTION: For making an electrostatic latent image a visible image, this image forming device is provided with three rotary developing units 20Y, 20M and 20C and a black developing unit 21B which are capable of attaining development with respective colors of yellow, magenta, cyan and black. Three developing units 20Y, 20M and 20C house toner and are attachably/detachably held by the developing rotary 23 rotating around a shaft 22, respectively. At the time of forming the image, the respective developing units 20Y, 20M and 20C are rotated around shaft 22, in such a state that the units 20Y, 20M and 20C are held by the developing rotary 23, so that a fixed developing unit is stopped at a position facing a photoreceptor drum 15. Thus, after the exchange of developing units is completed, the operation of rotating the developing rotary and then, transiently stopping it is repeated several times. |
