PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for interruption or termination of a speech for registration and to prevent the futile usage of a memory by storing tentatively a telephone number of an opposite party and operating a specific key during a speech and transferring and registering the telephone number to a telephone number registration memory. SOLUTION: Telephone number data sent from a caller portable telephone set 1B are sent to a control section 7 via a transmission reception section 5. The control section 7 stores the received telephone number data to a temporary storage memory 6 and also stores index data simultaneously that are reference for retrieval after registration of an incoming call arrival time or the like. When a specific key of an operation section 2 is depressed during the speech, the control section 7 reads caller telephone number data and the index data from the temporary storage memory 6 and transfers the data to a telephone number registration memory 4, which stores the data as registration data. In this case, the data are collated with data having already been registered and when the data have already been registered, the data are displayed on a display section 3 to prevent duplicate registration.
