<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of considerably suppressing the oxygen concentration in the containers made thereof to low levels not only at the initial stage but also after the lapse of days, and useful for packaging containers or the like, by including a thermoplastic resin and a specific iron- based oxygen scavenger in specified proportions. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including (A) 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin (pref. olefin-based resin) and (B) 1-100 pts.wt. of an iron- based oxygen scavenger >=0.5 m<2> /g in specific surface area, <=3 g/cc in apparent density and 1-50μm in average particle size, composed of (1) iron powder and (2) 0.1-30 pts.wt., based on 100 pts.wt. of the component (1), of such a metal salt as to be <=pH 1.0 (20 deg.C) in the form of a saturated aqueous solution (pref. group IIIB IVB or VIII metal halide, esp. iron chloride, tin chloride).</p> |
