PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fully display the usefulness of GPS by converting a position information using specified coordinates into codes changeable to position information including letters indicating the name of a place and carrying out recording in a recording medium based on the codes. SOLUTION: A camera 9 contains an IX 240 film 7, houses GPS 1 (a system for receiving radio wave from artificial satellites and inputting position information), and forms an image of a subject 10 on the IX 240 film 7 by a camera lens 8. A position-measuring means 3 measures the latitude and the longitude of the position of the camera 9 at the moment based on the electric waves received by an antenna 2 from a specified satellite and transmits the results to an encoder 4. The encoder 4 selects the information of place name of the place nearest the point defined by the latitude and the longitude from a reference table in a memory means and converts the information into codes. The encoded place information is transmitted to a magnetic recording circuit 5 and a magnetic recording head 6 is driven and the place name codes are magnetically recorded in the magnetic recording face which is the rear side of the IX 240 film 7. Consequently, troublesome processing of position information based on the specified coordinates is solved. |
