PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject chemical having extremely improved foaming magnification by combining a liquid obtained by allowing the liquid consisting essentially of an aqueous solution of sodium silicate to contain 2-methylimidazole and an amine-based catalyst, with the liquid containing an isocyanate component and a reactive diluent. SOLUTION: This chemical for hardening bedrock is obtained by combining (A) a liquid consisting essentially of (i) an aqueous solution of sodium silicate and containing (ii) 2-methylimidazole and (iii) an amine-based catalyst (e.g. triethylenediamine), with (B) the liquid containing (i) an isocyanate component and (ii) a reactive diluent. Preferably, the component A contains >=30 wt.% component A(i), 0.1-1.0 wt.% component A(ii) and 0.5-3.0 wt.% component A(iii), and the component B contains >=60 wt.% component B(i) and 1-40 wt.% component B(ii). The objective chemical for hardening the bedrock is preferably used by regulating the mixing weight ratio of the components A to B so as to be (1/0.5)-(1/5). |
