PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition which can give tires satisfactory in both high wet grip performance and low rolling resistance by preliminarily kneading a brominated polyisobutylene/p-methylstyrene copolymer (A), a divalent metal oxide (B) and a nitrogenous organic compound (C) and kneading the obtained composition and another rubber component (D). SOLUTION: The divalent metal atoms is exemplified by Mg<2+> , Zn<2+> , Ca<2+> or Ba<2+> , and the oxide is exemplified by MgO, ZnO or CaO. Component B plays a role in vulcanizing component A and is exemplified by zinc dimethyldithiocarbamate. Component D may be anything that can not be vulcanized with component B or C but can be vulcanized with sulfur. It is exemplified by natural rubber or a styrene/butadiene rubber. The mixing ratio is such that 0.1-10 pts.wt. each of components B and C and 50-900 pts.wt. component D are used per 100 pts.wt. component A. |
