Trisazo dye, process for producing the same and aqueous ink composition containing the same

Disclosed is a trisazo dye represented by the formula: wherein R<1> and R<2> independently represent a substituted amino group which is substituted with hydrogen, a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group, an amino group, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a hydroxyalkyl group or an acyl group, or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or an alkoxy group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and R<3> is hydrogen, an alkyl or alkoxy group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; provided that R<1> and R<2> are not amino groups or substituted amino groups simultaneously. A process for producing the trisazo dye and an aqueous ink composition containing the trisazo dye are also disclosed.
