A planting substratum, preferably consisting of wood fibers and suitable additives, is delivered dry by compressed air to a spray nozzle. Here it is mixed with a metered amount of water and sprayed onto the surface to be re-cultivated. The wood fibers can be produced on site from waste in the form of tree-stumps etc. Minerals or earth can be mixed in to increase the weight and thus the projection range.
