PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ink jet recording paper of high image quality high in ink absorbability and glossiness, capable of obtaining a sharp image, generating no undulation in a printing part and capable of being produced in low cost. SOLUTION: Ink jet recording paper is obtained by providing a void layer having a dry film thickness of 5-20 μm and containing fine particles with an average particle size of 100 nm or less, a hydrophilic binder and a cationic polymer mordant on a water absorbable support with a thickness of 160 μm or more as an ink absorbing layer and the wt. ratio of the cationic mordant is 0.5 times or more that of the hydrophilic binder. This void layer pref. contains polyvinyl alcohol. |
