PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the availability while reducing waste of power at the time of nonuse by supplying power required for the operation of a printer automatically based on a power on/off time determined internally through the information collecting process of power switch operating pattern. SOLUTION: When a printer 30 is used, a power on/off operation information acquiring means 50 acquires information concerning to the on/off operating time of a power switch 37 by a user during a preset period (e.g. 24 hours). More specifically, voltage level at the output end of a power supply 34 is determined and on/off operating time information of the power switch 37 is acquired. An on/off time of power supply corresponding to a case where the power off interval after turn off power before turn on power is longer than a preset off interval is then selected from the time information. Subsequently, a power on/off time from an external power supply 35 to the power supply 34 is determined during a preset period from a stored power on/off time data. |
