<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly dissolve slip generated during rolling in rolling mills which are arranged in tandem by detecting at least one side of a rolling load and a rolling torque current of a motor and slip of every rolling mill and correcting speed reference over the entire of the rolling mills in the direction in which the slip is dissolved. SOLUTION: The speed reference to the rolling mill of each stand is added to low order controllers 20 provided in accordance with the rolling mill of each stand according to a prescribed rolling pattern with a host controller 10 and the speed of the motor 3 is controlled so that the motor speeds which are detected with speed detectors 4 are made to coincide with the speed reference. When the slip is generated between the rolling mill 2 and rolling material 1, the rolling torque current is changed so as to include the frequency component of not less than several tens Hz and also rolling load is also fluctuated. Provided that two phenomena are simultaneously generated, the kind and level of the slip is judged and the speed reference is changed over the entire rolling mill by that result.</p> |
