<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently separate a microorganism carrier and treated water by bringing the microorganism carrier made of hollow tubular plastic into contact with a nitrate- form nitrogen-containing soln. containing org. matter in a non-fluidized state to subject the org. matter-containing soln. to reductive denitrifying treatment by the microorganism on the surface of the carrier and to separate the carrier from treated water. SOLUTION: A microorganism carrier having a microorganism bonded thereto and made of hollow tubular plastic with true specific gravity of 1 or more, pref., 1.05-1.5 is prepared to be brought into contact with a nitrate-form nitrogen-containing soln. containing org. matter in a non-fluidized state to subject the org. matter- containing soln. to reductive denitrifying treatment by the microorganism on the surface of the microorganism carrier made of plastic. At this time, water to be treated is allowed to flow in from the vicinity of the bottom part of a treatment apparatus to treat so that treated water is allowed to flow out of the upper part of the treatment apparatus. Thereafter, the microorganism carrier made of plastic is separated from treated water by a separator. As material quality of the microorganism carrier made of plastic, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene terephthalate or derivatives of them are cited.</p> |
