<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform clear and high speed recording by gradation representation. SOLUTION: In this thermal printer, a thermal head HD is relatively moved with respect to a recording medium P1 and heating dots HD2 are selectively driven to be heated based on image information, thereby performing the recording on the recording medium P1. A control device CP discriminates between an overlap region W1 wherein plural times of recording is performed on a part of the recording medium P1 and a non-overlap region W2 wherein one time of recording is performed on a part thereof (S2). A ROM in the control device CP stores first density data D1 for the overlap region and second density data D2 for the non-overlap region. The control device CP selectively reads the first density data D1 corresponding to the second density data D2 or second density data D2 based on the discrimination result (S3, S5).</p> |
