摘要 An improved ignition control for an internal combustion engine has the firing pulse repeated for a set number of times during the firing cycle, when the engine speed is low, to ensure complete combustion and to prevent misfiring. The multiple firing is reduced, and finally inhibited, as the engine speed rises, and as the engine torque increases. A control circuit (28) determines conditions at which multiple firing is required and operates a switching element (26) to drive the ignition. The multiple firing occurs over a set angle of the engine cycle.
