The electric air pump (8) has an electronically commutated electric motor (13) contained within a common housing (14) with the air pump, having a first chamber (15) containing the stator laminations packet (16), hermetically sealed by a plug cover (18) for the stator terminals (17) and a second chamber (19) containing a bearing pin (20) for a bell-shaped rotor (21), fitting around the outside of the first chamber, with a number of peripheral pump feed elements (24) at its opposite side.
