PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide information transmission device/method registering plural transmission lines to one opposite party and transmitting information by the plural transmission lines. SOLUTION: A telephone book data base 504 stores plural transmission opposite parties in accordance with plural communication addresses. A FAX transmission operation screen control part 501 and a telephone book screen control part 502 obtain the plural communication addresses corresponding to the designated transmission opposite party from the telephone book data base and selects one of plural obtained communication addresses. The selected communication address is supplied to a transmission line judgment part 601 and a transmission control part 602. The transmission line judgment part 601 and the transmission control part 602 transmit picture information based on the selected communication address.
