PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To indicate the reason why a button can not be displayed during menu display by displaying a help message corresponding to a button which makes a choice ineffective according to state data including information showing whether or not a choice for a button is made ineffective. SOLUTION: A state data storage means 22c stores information data including information showing the positions of buttons to be selected which are provided in a menu and a state showing whether or not choices for the buttons are made ineffective. An event processing means 22b detects whether or not there is an indication for the button making the choice ineffective according to the state data and the help table 26 contains a message regarding the reason corresponding to the button stored with the state data. Then a message display means 22a displays the message in the help table 26 corresponding to the indicated button when the indication for the button making the choice ineffective is detected by the event processing means 22b.
