PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy of estimation of a defatting ratio, etc., of a subject, by calculating the extracellular fluid resistance and the intracellular fluid resistance based on bioelectric impedance and using a specific expression. SOLUTION: Two surface electrodes Hc, Hp are adhered on backs Ha of a subject's hands and remained two surface electrodes Lc, Lp on insteps Le and multifrequency current Ib is flowed as measurement signals through the body E. Impedance 1/Y(0) obtained by an impedance determining subprogram at frequency 0 is the extracellular fluid resistance 1/Ye to be obtained. Cell membrane losses volumetric capacity at frequency infinite and the intracellular fluid resistance 1/Yi is accurately calculated from the difference between bioelectric impedance 1/Y(0) at frequency 0 and 1/Y(∞) at frequency ∞, and defatted weight LBM is estimated by the expression: LBM=a1 W+ b1 H<2> Ye+c1 H<2> Yi+d1 . The extracellular fluid resistance 1/Ye and the intracellular fluid resistance 1/Yi can be securely separated and it does not include the volume component of the cell membrane, and further, since not only the height H but also the body weight W are taken in consideration, a more accurate estimated value can be obtained. |
