PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a stent to a flat form by constituting the stent of transverse branches including waveform projections of a width and thickness in a range of specific values and longitudinal branches of a width and thickness in a range of specific values. SOLUTION: This stent for blood vessels comprises the transverse branches 1 and longitudinal branches 2 consisting of stainless steel materials. The transverse branches 1 among these branches contain the projections of the waveform of about 0.3 to 0.8 mm in height. The transverse branches 1 have the width of 0.05 to 0.09 mm and the thickness of 0.08 to 0.12 mm and the longitudinal branches 2 have the width of 0.009 to 0.12 mm and the thickness of 0.08 to 0.12 mm. When such stent is applied to the inside of the constricted blood vessel, the thickness of the stent thereof is 0.08 to 0.1 mm and, therefore, the stent is sufficiently thin and does not affect the normal flow of the blood. The stent is capable of preventing the reconstriction of the blood vessel and the recurrence of a disease in case of the occurrence of a thrombosis. |
