PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject nutrient composition that has good balance between the soluble fibers and the insoluble fibers, shortens the time to pass through the gastrointestinal tracts, liberates short-chain fatty acids, retains microbial balance at the mucous membrane level to suppress the proliferation of pathogenic microorganisms. SOLUTION: The objective nutrient composition contains a mixture of at least (A) the inner fibers of pea sheaths (Pisum sativum), preferably in an amount of 20-50%, (B) the outer fibers of pea sheaths, preferably in an amount of 20-40% and (C) inulin, preferably in an amount of 20-60%. In a preferred embodiment, inulin may be replaced with oligo saccharide or a mixture thereof. This nutrient composition has a viscosity of <=12 cP and contains 1-5% of the fiber mixture, 5-30% of protein, 40-65% of carbohydrate, 15-20% of lipid, 1-2% of vitamins and/or 0.3-5% of inorganic salts. |
