The canister purging obturator to allow operation whatever the load on the engine. The device for use with a purge canister (22) for an ignition controlled internal combustion engine which is controlled by an electronic system (20). The top part of the canister connects to the fuel tank (18) via a pipe (24) and with the admission collector (12) by a pipe (28) fitted with a first electro-valve (30). The opening and closing of the valve (30) is controlled by a first electrical signal (EV1) provided by the controller (20). The purging device includes: - a pipe (28) which connects to the fuel tank (18). This pipe (28) is fitted with an electro-valve (26) whose opening and closing is controlled by a second electrical signal (EV2) from the controller (20); - an obstructing device placed in the lower part (42) of the canister (22) which communicates with free air; - a pipe (44) which is fitted with a third electro-valve (46) which connects to the lower part (42) of the canister (22) and with the escape pipe (14) in front of the catalytic converter (16). Opening and closing of this third valve (46) is controlled by a third signal (EV3) from the controller (20)' - the first, second and third signals (EV1,EV2,EV3) are such that the first (30) and third (46) valves are open when the second (26) is closed, so that the fuel molecules from the canister are driven towards the admission pipe (12) following the counter pressure exerted, in the volume (42) above the membrane (50), by the pressure in the escape pipe (14). |
