The method involves taking part of the saturated steam's (MD) volumetric flow from the outlet of a steam turbine. This part is mixed with a reference gas (HD) to form a mixture in which the liquid component of the steam is fully vaporised. The reference gas's and mixture's enthalpy are determined from measured physical parameters and used to calculate the saturated steam's enthalpy. The saturated steam and reference gas are preferably mixed adiabatically. The reference gas is preferably superheated steam.
