Convertible automobile roof

The rollover protection for the occupants of a convertible automobile has a rear roof section (2) which pivots on its trailing edge at the bodywork, and its leading edge defines the rear section of the automobile. A guide groove (3) is at both sides of the rear roof section (2), as a sliding guide for the free ends of the powered swinging drag levers (4) which move on a circular arc towards the rear. On rolling over with an open roof, the levers (4) automatically move into a supporting position to hold the rear roof section. The swing levers (4) are components of a separate rollover protection hoop, separate from the rear roof section.
