PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a transmitting operation in response to the transmission rate of the video signals and also to select a transmission line according to the transmission state by switching both transmission means according to the image that is being photographed and also to the equipment that is used for reception of the video signals. SOLUTION: The video signals outputted from a video signal compression/ expansion means 103 are inputted to a high rate transmission means 107 or a low rate transmission means 108 and transmitted via a switch 106. Both means 107 and 108 are switched to each other based on the decision of an operator or the difference of photographing modes between the static and moving images. Then the video signals can be sent to a personal computer, etc., corresponding to a radio LAN as long as the means 107 is equal to a transmission means similar to the radio LAN. Furthermore, the video signals can be sent to other PHS terminals as long as the means 108 is equal to a transmission means similar to a PHS terminal. |
