PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a discharge starting voltage while avoiding reduction of light emitting efficiency for reducing burden on a drive system. SOLUTION: In this AC type plasma display panel, it is provided with a first and a second electrodes X, Y extended in a row direction, and a third electrode A extended in a column direction, a pair of sustaining electrodes are composed of the first and the second electrodes X, Y, and a pair of address electrodes are composed of the second electrode Y and the third electrode A. In this case, the first and the second electrodes X, Y are both set as layered products of a strip type transparent conductive film x1, y1 and a strip type metal film x2, y2 of a smaller width than the transparent film, and at least the metal film x2 of the first electrode is disposed in such a way that a distance of it from an end edge of the transparent conductive film x1 overlapped with it on the closer side to a discharge gap S1 is smaller than a distance from an end edge of it on the farther side from the discharge gap S1. |
