摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of overwright possible times by an easy method in a phase transition type recording medium having a phase transition type recording layer and a laminated body, in which a pair of dielectric layers holding this recording layer therebetween is laminated on a substrate, and incorporating zinc sulfide or this silicon oxide in at least one of the pair of dielectric layers. SOLUTION: When the intensity distribution profile of the laminated body is obtained by an Auger electron spectrum, a region having the intensity ratio S/Zn of <=2 exists from an area in the vicinity of the boundary between the dielectric layer and the recording layer into the recording layer over the thickness of >=6.0 nm in terms of the thickness of SiO2 . Further, a region having the relation of S/Zn<O/Si between the intensity ratio S/Zn and the intensity ratio O/Si exists in the vicinity of the boundary between the dielectric layer and the recording layer.
