PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve adhesion of glass to a glass substrate and thermal shock resistance by applying a coated material, in which a specific amount of fused quartz powder and color pigment is added and an aluminium phosphate is used as a binder, to a glass surface which has been subjected to blank ignition preburn or a blast treatment. SOLUTION: A glass surface as a substrate is subjected to blank ignition preburn or a blast treatment at 500-900 deg.C to remove dirt. An aluminium phosphate is used as a binder. Fused quartz powder having an average diameter of 5-50μm is used as a far-infrared emitting material. A coated material is such that 200-500 pts.wt. of fused quartz powder and 50-200 100 pts.wt. of color pigment are added to 100 pts.wt. of a solid part of a binder. The coated material is applied to the glass surface and baked to form a coated layer. In a glass tube having the coated layer, a heater member is mounted to be a far-infrared heater.
