PURPOSE:To properly use gradation recording and non-gradation recording, by providing a mode change-over means. CONSTITUTION:This recording apparatus has a gradation recording head 4 and a non-gradation recording head 1 and, when a change-over mode switch is set to a non-gradation recording mode, only the non-gradation recording head 1 is operated and paper 3 is moved in the direction shown by an arrow to perform recording. When the change-over mode switch is set to a gradation recording mode, the gradation recording head 4 mounted on a screw rod 6 and a guide rod 7 is operated to perform the recording only of the gradation recording part on the surface of the paper. At this time, the paper 3 is fed in the direction shown by the arrow little by little. By this method, non- gradation recording is selected when high speed recording is desired and gradation recording is selected when a speed may be slow but highly detailed recording is desired. |
