PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the wall surface of a spill protector arranged in a fuel chamber from being eroded. SOLUTION: A spill protector 7 arranged in a fuel chamber 6 is provided in order to protect the wall surface of the fuel chamber 6 against high speed injection flow (spill fuel) when fuel in a plunger chamber 21 is flown reversely to the fuel chamber 6 in the form of high speed injection flow at the end of a force-feed process. Also the spill protector 7 is provided with a projected wall 7a to suppress that fuel flown from the plunger chamber 21 to the fuel chamber 6 through a feed hole 3a before the start of the force-feed process is moved upward along the wall surface of the spill protector 7. In addition, the projected wall 7a is provided so that it is arranged at a position opposed to a feed hole 3a in a cylinder 3 and lower slightly than the center of the fuel chamber 6 in vertical direction under slant condition. |
