METHOD OF GIVING HYDROPHOBIC SYNTHETIC FIBER HYDROPHILICITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart durable hydrophilicity to hydrophobic synthetic fiber by applying specific polyoxyalkylene ether and specific polyester derivative to the hydrophobic synthetic fiber under specific conditions. SOLUTION: The hydrophilicity is imparted to hydrophobic synthetic fiber by applying a polyoxyalkylene ether of the formula (R<1> is a 4-22C alkyl, a 4-22C alkenyl, a 4-12C alkyl-substituted phenyl; R<2> is a 1-4C alkyl; A is a 2-3C oxyalkylene) and one or two or more kinds of polyester derivatives selected from polyether-ester and polyether-ester amide to hydrophobic synthetic fiber as polyester fiber so that the total amount of the polyoxyalkylene ether and the polyester derivative may becomes 0.05-3 wt.% and the weight ratio of the polyoxyalkylene ether/the polyester derivative may becomes 10/90-60/40.
