PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make up a thin-type bidirectional detection head for fibers. SOLUTION: This head comprises an optical fiber 3 whose rear end face touches either a light-outgoing surface of one light-projecting element 7 or a light-incoming surface of one light-receiving element 8 and a pair of reflection prisms 4a, 4b disposed such that their incident planes respectively come close to and stand opposite to sections into which a front end face of the optical fiber 3 is bisected, and second surfaces of the pair of reflection prisms 4a, 4b act as light-outgoing planes for causing light led in from the light-projecting element 7 to go out in the directions opposite to each other when the rear end face of the optical fiber 3 touches the light-projecting element 7 while they act as light-incoming planes, as light sources of light to come in the light- receiving element 8, for causing light to come in from quarters opposite to each other when the rear end face of the optical fiber 3 touches the light- incoming surface of the light-receiving element 8.
|
