<p>The invention relates to the remote control of communications equipment, in particular to the way in which remote control data are included in a data stream communicated by a communications device. The idea of the invention is to utilize existing cross-connecting structures found in a cross-connecting circuit in the transmission of a control channel. The cross-connecting circuit according to the invention uses individual switching definition for each bit. In the cross-connecting circuit according to the invention the control channel data can be included in the outgoing data stream using a special bit-specific instruction which connects one bit from an internal intermediate register in the circuit. Since the instruction is bit-specific, the control channel capacity can in principle be any number of bits.</p> |
