<p>An expanded graphite sheet which is capable of providing a thin electromagnetic wave shield having excellent mechanical strength despite its small thickness and having satisfactory handleability, and hence widely contributes to various industries. It is produced by suspending graphite particles obtained by expanding graphite at least 50 times on the average, compacting the expanded graphite to a bulk density of 0.02 to 2.0 g/cm3, pulverizing the compact, suspending the pulverized compact together with an aramid pulp obtained by fibrillating aramid pulp fibers so as to give a specific surface area of 3.0 m2/g or larger, a rubber latex as a binder, and at least either inorganic fibers or a conductive filler in water to give a slurry, and forming this slurry into a sheet by the wet process.</p> |
