<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color registration adjusting method in an image forming apparatus capable of quantitatively adjusting the color mis-registration of laser beam in a main scanning direction. SOLUTION: When a pulse width detected by comparing a pulse width detected with respect to the edge of a photosensitive belt with an expected pulse width is smaller than the expected pulse width, the detected pulse width is set to a scanning start signal (synthesized edge signal), and a value obtained by subtracting a predetermined value from the present expected pulse width is set to next expected pulse width and. When the detected pulse width is larger than or same to the expected pulse width, the expected pulse width is set to a scanning start signal (synthesized edge signal), and it is judged whether or not a pulse count value is less than an offset value in order to set the next unexpected pulse width.</p> |
