PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head mode system optical recording medium, which has an enough solubility to a coating solvent, which does not damage a polycarbonate board, and recording and regenerating characteristics excellent in the light having a wavelength of 680 nm or less. SOLUTION: In an optical recording medium, in which the wavelength of a recording and/or a reconstructed light of 680 nm or less is employed and which has a recording layer and a reflecting layer, the recording layer includes Rhodamine pigment represented by the formula, in which R, represents a hydrogen atom or an 1-4C alkyl group. R2 -R7 , represent respectively and independently a hydrogen atom or an 1-4C alkyl group or an alkoxy group. X<-1> represents counter anion. |
