PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a staircase ascent/descent auxiliary device allowing a user to effectively ascend or descend a staircase concurrently with his own power. SOLUTION: A guide rail 6 is fixed to a side wall 5 along the ascending/ descending direction of a staircase 4, and a guide means 7 is displaceably provided along the guide rail 6. The guide rail 6 is provided with lock protrusions corresponding to the treads 33 of the staircase 4, the guide means 7 is locked on one of the lock protrusions, and its displacement in the descending direction is prevented. The guide means 7 is provided with a holding member 8 extended in the horizontal direction, and a user 9 can surely hold the holding member 8 at the front of the body. The user 9 ascends the staircase 4 while the guide means 7 is locked on the lock protrusion above the user 9 by one step and the user 9 holds the holding member 8 with the upper body supported by the guide means 7. |
