PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ink jet recording paper of high image quality capable of obtaining high ink absorbability, high glossiness and a sharp image, generating no undulation in a printing part and capable of being produced in low cost in recording paper having a void layer on its support as a recording layer. SOLUTION: An ink absorbing layer having a void layer with a film thickness of 10-20 μm is provided on a water absorbable support with a thickness of 160 μm or more and contains a hydrophilic binder and fine particles with a mean particle size of 100 nm or less. The fine particles are secondary flocculated particles of inorg. fine particles with an average primary particle size of 3-30 nm and the secondary flocculated particles of the inorg. fine particles are silica fine particles synthesized by a vapor phase method. |
