PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound having antifungal action and useful as an antifungal agent. SOLUTION: This thiazolylpyridine-based compound (AFA 0322) is represented by the formula. The compound of the formula is obtained by culturing Saccharothrix sp. TA-0322 (FERM P-16315) strain in a culture medium containing various kind of nourishing substances according to the case producing general fermentation product at pH 4-10 and 25-35 deg.C for 2-5 day, preferably pH 6-7 and 25-28 deg.C for 4 day under aerobic conditions and isolating the resultant compound according to general method.
