Monitoring of supply potential for reset conditions in microprocessor system

The monitor has a constant voltage source (150), and a comparator (110) to compare the microprocessor supply voltage with a reference voltage derived from the constant voltage source. The comparator output controls the state of a reset signal output terminal (130). A delay circuit (160) holds this output terminal in a known state for a predetermined time interval that exceeds the time required for stabilization of the constant voltage source (150).
