PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To send facsimile image data received from a general facsimile equipment connected to a public network to an electronic mail destination of a computer network such as a LAN designated by a sender facsimile equipment as an electronic mail. SOLUTION: A LAN I/F section 6-14 connecting to a LAN and a line I/F section 6-6 connecting to a public network are provided to the communication equipment, and when a CPU 6-3 receives a remote instruction from a public line network, received facsimile image data are converted into electronic mail data and the converted electronic mail data are sent to an electronic mail destination designated by the received remote instruction.
