Cosmetic composition comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium, an aqueous dispersion of insoluble particles of a film-forming polymer and a non-amino alpha , omega -disilanol silicone emulsion.- DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The aqueous dispersion is preferably obtained by (co)polymerisation of monomers selected from styrene, butadiene, ethylene, propylene, vinyl toluene, vinyl propionate, vinyl alcohol, acrylonitrile, chloroprene, vinyl acetate, urethanes, isoprene, isobutene, vinyl ether, vinylpyrrolidone, vinylimidazole, (meth)acrylic acid, maleic acid, crotonic acid, or itaconic acid or esters or amides of these acids. The concentration of polymer particles is preferably 1-35 wt. % on total composition. The silicone is selected e.g. from polydialkylsiloxane alpha , omega - disilanols, polyalkylaryl alpha , omega -disilanols, and polydiaryldialkyl alpha , omega -disilanols. The non-amino alpha , omega -disilanol silicones are present in an amount of 0.05-10 (0.1-3) wt. % on total composition. The compositions may be in the form of lotions for application to the hair as styling or conditioning lotions, or they can be packaged under pressure with at least one propellant for application as an aerosol spray. The propellant is present e.g. in an amount of 5- 90 (10-50) % on the total weight of the pressurized composition
