<p>A dead end connector (10) comprising an elongated base (12) with a channel (18) extending along the length thereof, a cover (26) with a second channel (27), and bolts (54, 56) for securing the two units together so that the channels form a bore through which a fiber optic cable (44) is received, where each of the channels has at least one hardened steel insert (28, 30, 32, 34) with inner teeth (36a, 38a, 40a, 42a) which grip the cable (44) and outer teeth (38b, 40b) which grip the base (12) or cover (26). A vibration damper (70, 72) may be formed as part of the connector or as a separate piece (75) which is attached to the connector.</p> |
