The cover fits into a mounting frame so that when it is closed it conceals the appliance and leaves an aesthetically pleasing level surface. The cover (1) fits tightly inside a mounting frame (2) and when it is closed the cover is flush with the top of the frame to form a level surface. Preferably the cover is a continuous panel made from the same material as the frame, e.g. glass, plastic, metal or wood, and is pivotably mounted in the frame, which is an integral part of the appliance.
