PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a garbage solid fuel low in ash discharge when burned, and extremely low in toxic substance generation by mixing combustibles obtained by removing incombustibles from garbage with an alkali (alkaline earth) metal compound and (hydrous) iron oxide. SOLUTION: This garbage soild fuel is obtained by mixing (A) combustibles obtained by removing incombustibles from municipal garbage or industrial wastes, (B) an alkali (alkaline earth) metal compound pref. in finely powdered form about 5μm in average particle size, and (C) (hydrous) iron oxide (pref. hydrous iron oxide) with the particle size pref. 0.08-0.5μm in terms of average major axis. Specifically, this solid fuel is obtained by mixing the component A with the components B and C followed by molding the mixture into a solid fuel form, more preverably, the component B is mixed with the component C in advance, followed by mixing with the component A and then molding into a solid fuel form. According to the above method, the components B and C exist in close proximity to each other, therefore being hopeful highly efficient dehydrochlorination effect.
