SOLUTION: This new cellobiose phosphorylase gene is capable of coding a protein comprising an amino acid sequence described in the formula and the cellobiose phosphprylase is an enzyme capable of carrying out the phosphorolysis of cellobiose and useful for the industrial production, etc. of the cellobiose phosphorylase used for the production, etc. of saccharide phosphates or various disaccharides useful as a material, etc. for foods and medicines. The gene is obtained by extracting a genomic DNA from a Cellvibrio gilvus ATCC13127 strain, treating the resultant genomic DNA with a restriction enzyme, packaging the prepared fragment with a lambda phage, preparing a phage library and then screening the phage library with a partial gene of the cellobiose phosphorylase as a probe. |
