METHOD FOR TREATING EXHAUST GAS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To treat an exhaust gas contg. high sulfur oxide concn. and to decrease the amt. of a carbonaceous catalyst. SOLUTION: An alkali absorbent is added to an exhaust gas contg. sulfur dioxide and the mixture is fed to a dust collector 13 and a reaction product of the sulfur oxide and the alkali absorbent is removed by means of the dust collector 13 and the exhaust gas exhausted from the dust collector 13 is fed into a moving bed reactor 15 and desulfurization is performed in the moving bed reactor 15 by using a carbonaceous catalyst and the carbonaceous catalyst discharged from the moving bed reactor 15 is regenerated by using a regenerator 19 and sulfur dioxide gas generated by following regeneration of the carbonaceous catalyst is added in the exhaust gas before being fed into the dust collector 13. In this case, as the product is removed by means of the dust collector 13, the concn. of sulfur oxides in the exhaust gas at the inlet side of the moving bed reactor 15 is decreased.
