The apparatus of the present invention discloses a liquid crystal display and a liquid crystal chess board. The apparatuses comprise a plurality of back electrodes and surface electrodes arranged in direction that is vertical to back electrodes. The said back and surface electrodes are at least divided into two sub-electrodes having given shape, respectively. The apparatus can display image and be reduced cost by various combining of back surface sub-electrodes. |
