FIELD: immunochemicals. SUBSTANCE: secretory part of epithalamus is disintegrated, homogenized, extracted, and centrifuged. Desired product is purified and dried. Method is distinguished by performing: homogenization in physiologic solution at pH 4.8-5.0 without preliminary acetone treatment, extraction with the same solution for 1-3.5 hr at constant stirring, centrifugation at 19-20 thousands rpm for 1 hr, isolation of active material with molecular weight 300-3000 D by gel chromatography consecutively on Sephadex G-75 and G-25, and lyophilic drying of final product.
