Telecommunications system with synthetic speech/music

The system enables stored speech or music to be transmitted to the caller when a call has been made but not passed through to the called extension. The remote caller sends a command via the connection to the user's terminal, which changes the acoustic pause information after evaluating the command, esp. switches it off, changes it over or turns it down. The user terminal transmits a message to the remote caller at the start of or during a pause information group. The message contains information suitable for influencing the pause information and from which the remote caller can select a command to be returned.
